A decision has been taken during the recent meeting conducted under the leadership of the Secretary of Consumer Affairs, Hem Kumar Pande in Delhi to sell the essential food grains required by the public in Post Offices.
A further decision was taken to keep increased stock levels of pulses especially during the festive seasons.
It was also informed during the meeting that 500 purchase stations have been set up throughout the country to buy the food grains from the farmers. The payment for the food grains bought is immediately credited into the bank accounts of the farmers.
