Nuclear submarine INS Arihant to join Indian Navy?

An information has been released that the nuclear weapon carrying submarine INS Arihant will be linked to the Indian Navy.

The first nuclear submarine to be manufactured in the country INS Arihant has passed the various tests successfully and is said to have been linked to the Indian Navy.

However, neither the defense ministry nor the Indian Navy has confirmed this. They did not deny it either. In case INS Arihant joins the Indian Navy, India will join the unique ‘Nuclear Triad Club’. This means that India will join the superpowers which are capable of launching nuclear weapons from the land, water, and air.

Vice-Admiral of the Indian Navy, G. S. Pabby that he will have a detailed talk about this development shortly.

INS Arihant is the first nuclear submarine designed and built with Indian technology. It has been successful to pass the various tests. It was planned to be built in the year 1990 and built in the year 2009. The first tests were conducted in 2013.

INS Arihant weighs 6000 tons. Rockets K-4 and K-15 can be launched from this. K-4 can precisely attack a target at a distance of 3500 km. K-15 can precisely attack a target at a distance of 750 km.

It is worth noting that these rockets have been named after the former India President Abdul Kalam.
