Prices of vegetables come down

For the last two days, the prices of vegetables and fruits have come down. Everyday vegetables are brought to Koyambedu wholesale market from Andhra and Karnataka states in more than 350 lorries. Apart from this, vegetables arrive in large numbers from Periyapalayam, Arni, Tiruvannamalai, Kancheepuram, Ottanchattiram, Hosur and Krishnagiri.
Since there are no auspicious days, the vegetables in the market are getting stagnated. Hence retail merchants buy less number of vegetables. Now the prices of vegetables in the retail shops have come down by 20 percent. A merchant in Ayyanavaram said that sales of vegetables and fruits are high because the prices have come down.
