It is expected that a 2 percent increase in D. A. (Dearness Allowance) will be offered to the central government employees on the special occasion of the popular festival Deepavali.
Information is gathered that in tomorrow’s scheduled meeting of the central cabinet ministers, the issue of offering a 2 percent increase in DA for the central government employees is also included.
It is informed that this increase in the Dearness Allowance for the central government employees and pensioners is in lieu of the rising prices of all commodities
In case approval is granted by the committee of the central ministers in this meeting for an increase of DA by 2 percent, 50 Lakhs central government employees and 58 Lakhs central government pensioners will avail this benefit.
The increase in Dearness Allowance would be effective from 1st July, 2016. It may be recalled that during the implementation of the 7th Wages commission was implemented, the Dearness Allowance was increased by 6 percent.
Meanwhile, the central government employees’ unions have asked for a 3 percent increase in Dearness Allowance.
