Kanda Sashti festival commenced today

Kanda Sashti festival commenced in Thiruchendur the second abode of Lord Murugan today. The temple was opened at 1 a.m. After this various rituals are being conducted.
From tomorrow, the temple will be opened from 3 am till 4th November. After opening the temple the rituals will be performed. Today at 4 pm Abhishekam will be performed to Jayanthinathar.
From 2nd to 5th the temple will be opened at 3 am. Rituals will be performed after the temple opens.
On the festival day (5th November) the temple will be opened at 1 am. In the evening at 4.30 pm Soorasamharam will take place in the beach. Lakhs of devotees are expected to participate in this Soorasamharam. On 6th at about 6.30 pm Sri Kumaravidanga Swamy - Ambal - Tholmaalai Maatrum Nigalchi will take place.
