Sportspersons invited to apply for incentive scholarship

The Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) has invited applications from sportspersons studying in schools and colleges for grant of sports scholarships during 2016-17.
According to a release, sportspersons in schools are eligible for an assistance of Rs.10, 000, while college/university sportspersons are eligible for Rs.13, 000.
Students, who won medals in individual events and team events in recognised sports and games at national-level tournaments and all-India inter-university championships between July 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016, could apply
The duly filled application should be sent to the District Sports and Youth Welfare Officer concerned of Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu after attestation of the certificate.
The application may also be downloaded through the SDAT website www.sdat.tn.gov.in the players are requested to enclose a Demand Draft or postal order for Rs.10/- drawn in favour of Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu towards the cost of the application. The downloaded application sent without the DD or postal order will not be considered.
The last date for receipt of filled in applications: 30.11.2016.
