In September this year, Reliance Jio had launched high speed telecom services. This had prompted Ericsson AB, the Swedish telecom equipment and network service provider to roll out its 4G network services.
The head of India region of Ericsson, Paola Colella stated that there is truly a betterment of high bit rate mobile broadband brought by Jio. Such quick roll out of 4G would not have been possible in the country. It would have taken a bit more time to catch up.
Many western countries have already started using the 4G internet. Countries including China, Korea, and Japan have started making their investments to build up the infrastructure. Colella further added that Jio has made a significant contribution in triggering 4G services in India.
With enormous wide-spreading of usage of 4G, there is going to be increased demand for smartphones as well. As there is limited spread of wireline being set up across India, the usage of broadband is limited too.
By the year 2020, over 800 million smartphones are anticipated to be in use. So the maximum use of internet in India will be via mobile. This is a concrete different, Colella added.
Truecaller has already observed thrice the number of its usual usage limit following Jio’s launch. Lava mobiles, the mobile maker hopes to have 20 percent increase in sales by the year 2020. It further adds that there is significant increase in demand observed in the past 6 weeks.
