Sabarimala Ayyappan temple is changed to Sree Ayyappaswamy Temple

The name of the famous Sabarimala Ayyappan temple in Kerala has been changed as Sree Ayyappaswamy Temple.
Lakhs of devotees throng this hill temple Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra. Especially during the months of Karthigai, Margazhi and Thai devotes throng the temple after severe fasting.
Board authorities said the decision to change the name of the temple was taken at the meeting of the board on October.
An official of Board said: There are many Dharmasastha temples under the Devaswom Board, but Sabarimala is the one and only holy seat in the world where Sree Ayyappaswamy presides. That is the reason why Crores of devotees visit Sabarimala every year to have darshan of Lord Ayyappaswamy.
