Polling of votes in Aravakurichi, Thanjavur and Thiruparankundram assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu and Nellithope assembly constituency in Puducherry were held on 19th.
Amid tight security, counting of votes for three assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu and a lone seat in neighbouring Puducherry began today at designated counting centres.
Postal votes are being taken up first for counting wherever available and it will be soon be followed by counting of EVM votes.
Counting of votes polled in Aravakurichi is being held at M Kumarasamy College of Engineering in Karur while in Thanjavur, it is being held at Kundavai Nachiaar Govt Arts College for Women. In Thiruparankundram, the counting is being held at Madurai Medical College. In Puducherry, the counting is being held at Bharathidasan Govt College for Women.
Election Commission had said that to ensure transparency in the counting process, copy of result of each table would be given to every counting agent by the Counting Supervisor.
