The Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai has mentioned that the rains will continue in Southern districts since there is low depression is stationed in Kanyakumari coastal area,
The low pressure system is expected to form under the influence of a trough of low at mean sea level over equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal. The low pressure will develop over southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast. Because of this, there is heavy downpour of rains in southern districts.
An official of The Regional Meteorological Centre said: Since the low pressure is moving towards the north, there will be heavy rains in the southern districts. There will be rains in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Ramanathapuram. Apart from this, there will be heavy rains in Kerala and Lakshadweep Islands. There will be dry climate in North Tamil Nadu. There may be light showers in some places.
