AIADMK candidate Rangasamy has won the by-election at Thanjavur. At other constituencies, AIADMK holds high position.
The by-election took place at Tamil Nadu, Aravanguruchi, Thanjavur, Thiruparankundram, and Pondicherry on 19th this month and the election vote counting started today.
The vote counting was held in three sessions at Nellithoppu, as 18 sessions at Aravanguruchi and as 21 sessions at Thiruparankundram and as 20 sessions at Thanjavur. Right from the beginning, AIADMK candidates were ahead with more number of votes.
Thanjavur
The AIADMK candidate Rangasamy has won over his DMK counterpart Anjugam by an enormous difference of 27,853 votes. While Rangasamy scored 99,362 votes, Anjugam had scored 71,509.
Nellithoppu
Narayanasamy who competed at Nellithopppu, Pondicherry has won with 18,709 votes. His AIADMK counterpart, Omsakthi Sekar got 7,526 votes. With this, Narayanasamy retains his position as the CM of Pondichery.
