New currencies arrive in Chennai by special air force flight

14 tonnes currencies were brought to Chennai from Nasik in a flight. 14 tonnes currency notes printed in Nasik was brought to Chennai by an air force plane in the wee hours. Reserve Bank authorities had brought 2 containers of currencies amidst tight security. It has mentioned that the containers had contained new Rs 500 notes. Hence we can expect new 500 notes in the banks soon.
