Route diversion on the Velachery-Taramani link

The state highways department will be soon indulging in the foundation work for the second of the two flyovers. In order to facilitate the construction, The Chennai city traffic police have enforced route diversion on the Velachery-Taramani link.
Vehicles proceeding from Velacherry MRTS flyover towards SRP Tools will need to take a 500 metre detour via Old Velacherry road turn right to LIC Colony road and reconnect with the link road.
Traffic change has also been enforced on the other end of the Old Velacherry road as heavy vehicles are no longer permitted entry from Guru Nanak College junction. According to local traffic personnel, these vehicles must take the 100 feet bypass to reach Velacherry.
