Cyclone Nada will weaken into a deep depression

The system was formed over the southwest Bay of Bengal. The cyclone is likely to cross the Tamil Nadu coast between Vedaranyam and Puducherry early on December 2 morning.
 
Now Cyclone Nada, heading towards Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the Bay of Bengal, is weakening and may make landfall in the very early hours of Friday near Cuddalore.
 
The regional IMD office in Chennai has said that cyclone Nada will weaken into a deep depression and make a landfall between Vedaranyam and Cuddalore and is presently situated 270 km offshore from Puducherry, moving at a speed of 20km/hr.
 
Chennai and other coastal districts will receive moderate to heavy rainfall with winds at 60 - 70km speed. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.
