Paytm has recently announced a new feature according to which it will be possible for the users to make use of the mobile wallet regardless of the access to internet connection. You may need a smartphone or PC for creating the Paytm account, to start with and this has to be linked with your phone number. You certainly need to load cash onto your account. However, to make payments for purchase or settling bills, there will be no need to have a smartphone or internet connection. A working phone is all that you need.
The toll free number for launching this is 1800 1800 1234. Dial this number from your registered mobile number and set up your PIN. There will be a voice message intimating that a call back for setting the PIN will be made. Following this, it will be possible for you to make payments using this number. You can do so by dialing the toll free number, enter the phone number, the amount and at last the PIN to confirm. Neither the paytm app nor a smartphone is required for this procedure. This might not be the easiest method of payments, but the feature will be useful at a number of scenarios.
