Prospects of heavy rains in Chennai on 12th December

The Director, Chennai Meteorological Centre, Stella told the press reporters that the cyclonic storm vardah has stabilised 880 km Southeast of Nellore.
This is moving towards the Northwest direction, would weaken on 12th December in Nellore-Masulippattinam region and may cross the coasts in the evening.
Because of this, there are prospects of heavy rains on 12th December in the districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, and Thiruvannamalai in a few places.
There would be widespread rains in Cuddalore and Puducherry. Winds may blow at high speeds.
There would be fast-blowing winds on 12th December especially in the districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvallur districts.
Fishermen have to be watchful. They should not go to the Andhra Coastal Region.
There are prospects of light rain in the next 24 hour in South Tamil Nadu.
