More swiping machines installed in Chennai Central

Southern Railway will install Point of Sales (PoS) machines, which will eventually be increased up to 1000 depending on public reception. They will be installed at passenger reservation counters across Tamil Nadu, Puduchery and Kerala.
This is in tune with the central government’s push towards less-cash, more-digital transactions.
As of now additional swiping machines have been installed in the 7 advance booking counters in Chennai Central. On the whole there are 8 swiping machines in these counters. Similarly the swiping machines have been installed in the advance booking counters in 10 railway stations including Egmore, Madras Beach and Thirumailai. It has also been mentioned that additional swiping machines in all the advance booking counters and unreserved booking counters.
