Weather department has dismissed rumours of a fresh cyclone

The Vardah cyclone crossed the shores near Chennai Harbour. The wrath of this cyclone uprooted more than 1 lakhs tress and majority of electric poles. At this juncture there were rumours that a fresh cyclone will be attacking Tamil Nadu on 24th or 25th.
The Weather department has dismissed rumours of a fresh cyclone forming in the Bay of Bengal.
Chennai Meteorological Centre director Stella while speaking with the media said: There was no possibility of cyclone till now. Do not believe in rumours. However, there are chances of rain in the southern districts the next two days.This possibility of likely rain has been attributed to the trough in low altitude close to the South Tamil Nadu coast. As far as Chennai is concerned, the sky will be cloudy and rains are expected in some areas.
