The last phase of testing of the Agni-5 Missile which is manufactured with 100 percent indigenous local materials and effort has been successfully completed in Coastal Odisha.
The Agni-5 missile is manufactured by ISRO and has the capacity to reach the target at a distance of 5000 km and destroy it. It carries a nuclear arsenal and can travel from one continent to another. It is 17 metres long and weighs 50 tonnes.
The first 3 phases of testing the missile were successfully conducted in the years 2012, 2013, and 2015. The 4th phase of testing was conducted in Odisha’s wheeler island. The officials declared that the testing of the Agni-5 missile, which is technologically more advanced, to be successful.
With Agni’s first 4 missiles having been already handed over to the army, Agni-5 also will be handed over to the Army very shortly.
With the testing of Agni-5 being a success, India has joined the elite list of countries with the capability of missiles, which can travel from one continent to another like America, Russia, Britain, Frane, and China.
