U.S. Education Expo to start on 10th February

Those who wish to have a taste of student life in US will benefit greatly by visiting the American Education Expo, organized by the International Student Network and the U.S. Department of Commerce. The ‘American Education Expo’ will be held in Chennai, at Hotel Park Sheraton on Friday, February 10th from 5pm to 8 pm. It will feature 20 top American colleges and universities that are eager to admit Indian students to increase campus diversity. The colleges are offering majors courses in Computer Engineering, Pharmaceutical & Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, etc.
The U.S. currently hosts over 5,65,000 foreign students. In addition to the opportunity to network with U.S. admissions counselors, the ‘American Education Expo’ will also feature a Scholarship Fair hosted by universities that are present. Here , information on merit-based scholarships will be made available, students should bring multiple copies of their report cards, transcripts and TOEFL scores to find out their eligibility for scholarships. This year the universities are offering upto $1 million in Scholarships.
The fair will also provide information on community colleges in the U.S. Besides enabling easy transfer of community college credits to four-year universities. According to the organizers beginning at a U.S. community college can significantly decrease the overall cost.
Students can meet Admission Officers face to face and get immediate answers to questions about tuition fee, scholarships, housing, admission procedures, costs etc.
The participating universities for undergraduate students are Mercer University & Oklahoma City University and for graduate students it is IIT, Murray University, Purdue University- Calumet, Wisconsin University and many more.
