As the sky tends to be clear over the last few days, the temperature has gone up in several cities in the state of Tamil Nadu.

With the Northeast monsoon rainy season having come to a close, the sky has been very clear over the past few days over Tamil Nadu. This has caused an increase in the temperature in several cities in the state.

A maximum temperature of 34 Degrees Celsius has been recorded in Karur. It was 33 Degrees Celsius in Kanyakumari and 32 Degree Celsius in Madurai. Coimbatore, Palayamkottai, Parangippettai, and Trichy recorded a maximum of 31 Degrees Celsius. Chennai. Thanjavur, Pamban, and Puducherry recorded a maximum of 30 Degree Celsius.

The public has become rather anxious at this temperature even before the start of the summer season ahead.

An official from the Chennai Meteorological Centre explained that presently, there are neither any low-pressure zones nor any thermal convection formed in the upper layers of the atmosphere formed over the Bay of Bengal in the Tamil Nadu coast area. Hence, there are no cloud formations in the sky over the Tamil Nadu region leading to a very clear sky. This allows the hot rays from the Sun directly to the ground leading to an increase in the temperature.

In case there are clouds in the sky, they would tend to block the sun rays and prevent higher temperature on the ground level. The dry weather will prevail in Tamil Nadu for the next 5 days. Chennai would have a very clear sky.

The official also informed that there are no prospects of the low pressure zone formed over the Thailand region to drift towards Tamil Nadu.
