Thai Poosam: Traffic diversion at Mylapore

Police have announced certain traffic diversions in Mylapore in view of the Thaipoosam float festival of Kapaleeswarar temple from February 7 to 9 between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

According to a release, diversion will be in force around Kapaleeswarar Temple and R.K. Mutt Road.

Vehicles will not be allowed towards the temple from the Luz junction, from Kutchery Road towards Mathalanarayanan Street, from Dr. Ranga Road towards Venkatesa Agraharam Road, from St. Mary`s Road towards R. K. Mutt Road and from East Chitrakulam Street towards North Chitrakulam Street and from Mandaveli Street towards Adam Street, T.S.V. Koil Street and West Chitrakulam Street.

Vehicles, including MTC buses, coming on Royapettah High Road and Kutchery Road bound for Mandaveli and R.K. Mutt Road should take the Luz junction, Luz Church Road, D`Silva Road, Warren Road, St. Mary`s Road, R.K. Mutt Road and reach the Mandaveli junction.

Vehicles, including MTC buses, coming from Adyar and proceeding towards Royapettah and Luz should take V.K. Iyer Road, Sringeri Mutt Road, Warren Road, Dr. Ranga Road, East Abiramapuram First Main Road, Luz Avenue, Luz Church Road, Vivekananda College, P.S. Sivaswamy Salai and reach Royapettah High Road.

MTC buses having terminus at Mylapore Tank will be operated from Luz Church Road.

Parking facilities for vehicles coming to the temple will be available at P.S. Higher Secondary School, on Luz Church Road near Kamadhenu Theatre and on Venkatesa Agraharam Road near Tirumailai MRTS station.
