UM Motorcycles India has announced a price hike of about 5 percent in all of its models. Accordingly, Renegade Commando will be sold at Rs1.64 lakh and Renegade Sports S will be sold for Rs 1.57 lakh at ex-showroom in Delhi. The price of these motorcycles was Rs 1.59 lakh and Rs 1.49 lakh respectively.
The change in price comes as there is an increase in raw material rate and operations cost. The costs are restructured but will be of very minimal impact. Rajeev Mishra, the director of UML said they offer attractive interest rates to grab more customers.
In association with Lohia Auto, the American motorcycle manufacturer, UM Motorcycles having its headquarters in Miami initiated its functions in India. Works are on the go to produce cruisers at Lohia Autos Kashipur facility in Uttarakhand. They make over 1000 to 1500 motorcycles in a month. The annual production capacity here is 50,000 and the motorcycles will be sold via 50 dealerships.
There are over 4000 books received for the two models so far. A 280cc single cylinder water cooled engine powers either of the vehicles Renegade Commando and Sports S. The motorcycle powers 25bhp of power at 8500 rpm and 21.8 Nm off torque at 7000 rpm.
