TTD gearing up for Ratha Sapthami

Ratha Sapthami also known as Surya jayanti will be celebrated on 3rd February at Lord Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala. Thousands of devotees will participate in the festival. On this day, the presiding deity of Lord Malayappa Swamy along with his divine consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi are taken to a procession in Thiru Mada streets in Tirumala. 

The deities carried out in a jubilant procession around the Thiru mada streets encircling the holy Shrine of Balaji on seven different vahanams during Surya Jayanthi festival. The festival is also known as single day Brahmotsavam of Lord Balaji. The Ratha Saptami Utsavam begins with Suryaprabha vahanam seva at early morning 5 am and ends with Chandraprabha Vahanam seva at  9 pm in the night.
 
TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao instructed the Annaprasadam and Health officers to keep ready 1.5lakh buttermilk and six Lakh water packets ready on that day.
 
So far only 6 tickets were allowed to be booked online for Lord’s darshan and now this has been increased by 10 tickets.
