The Tamil Nadu Traders Association has announced that it will not sell foreign made cool-drinks including Pepsi and Coke.

The President of the Association, Mr Vikarama Raja explained in this regard while discussing with the press reporters in Villupuram that the federation has taken a decision not to sell foreign-made cool drinks including  Coke and Pepsi. The federation will encourage the sales of local-made cool drinks.

The American Organisation PETA had gone to the Supreme Court to ban Jallikattu, Because of this, the protesters in the recent period against the ban put up the slogan that they will not cool drinks made from that country.

The Tamil Nadu Traders Association has a taken decision to stop selling these cool drinks as a solidarity measure with the protesters.

This is construed as another good benefit from the Jallikattu protests. Until 10 years ago, many traders were manufacturing cool drinks locally and sold them. They made the popular drink soda as well.

However, after the advent of the foreign cool drinks like Pepsi and Coke, the local small-scale manufacturing industry of cool drinks died gradually.
