The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that 2 low-pressure zones have formed over the south-west Bay of Bengal.
The Director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre, Mr Balachandran had a session with the press reporters today (Thursday, 26th January).
He informed that a depression zone had initially formed over the south-west Bay of Bengal. After this, another depression zone has formed over the Maldives Islands.
Because of this, there are prospects of rain in the next 24 hours, mainly in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and possibility of rain in a few other places.
Chennai will remain cloudy. There are prospects of a light drizzle in the city.
