It was found recently that the festival flag-hoisting pole at the Sabarimala Temple, which is over 40 years old, is quite damaged.

Permission was obtained from the Devaprasnam to remove this damaged flag-hoisting pole and replace it with a new one.

Subsequently, the activities on installing a new festival flag-hoisting pole are in progress in full swing.

The removal ceremony of the old flag-hoisting pole will be performed with special pooja on 17th February.

The new-flag-hoisting pole is scheduled to be installed on 25th June as a special occasion.

Meanwhile, it was scheduled to perform the grand Panguni Uthiram Festival at the Sabarimala temple from 31st March with the flag-hoisting ceremony till 9th April.

However, as the new flag-hoisting pole installation is in progress is not likely to be completed before 31st March.

So, it has been decided to postpone the conducting of the Panguni Uthiram festival.

The grand Panguni Uthiram festival will now be performed only after the installation of the new flag-hoisting pole.
