New India Assurance plans 300 Micro-offices for the benefit of Rural public

The New India Assurance Company has planned to open 40 new Micro-offices throughout Tamil Nadu during the next financial year for the benefit of the rural citizens

New India Assurance Company’s Deputy General Manager in Chennai, Ms. Jayanthi explained in this regard that the company has been providing various insurance coverage policies to safeguard the people properties. The company has 3 offices in Tamil Nadu – Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore.

There are 25 regional offices, 25 branches, and 62 micro-offices under the Chennai office. 14 regional offices, 17 branch offices, and 46 micro-offices are operating under the Coimbatore 15 regional offices, 17 branch offices, and 65 micro-offices operated under the Madurai office.

14.08 Lakhs insurance coverage policies were sold in the financial year of 2015. Further, 98104 claims were settled. A total premium amount of Rs. 810 Crores was collected. During the financial year 2016-17, 83520 claims have been settled.

In the recent event of the storm Varda, and the rain and flood in the December 2015-January 2016, many people lost their belongings. 

However, since most of them did not arrange to insure their properties, they have to incur very heavy losses. On the positive side, this created ample awareness among the people about the need to insure their  properties.This has directly resulted in the increase in Property Insurance Coverage Business.

With this positive trend, New India Assurance Company has decided to open 30 new micro-offices throughout Tamil Nadu. These offices will particularly work for the rural citizens.The rural people can now contact these new micro-offices to take new policies and make premium payments.
