BSNL has now introduced a new facility where cell phone user requires only broadband and not SIM card to make/receive calls on their cell phones.

It is enough if the user downloads the relevant App. One can make calls even to those places where there is no network.

As a major competitor to the private telecom service providers, the public sector company BSNL has been giving stiff competition by offering a variety of attractive concessions and services.

In this effort, the introduction of LFMD (Limited Fixed Mobile Telephony) is the latest facility to be introduced by BSNL.

The General Manager of the Chennai Telephone Circle, Ms. S. M. Kalavathi, explained in this regard the recent facility called LFMD introduced by BSNL will require a landline connection and/or a broadband connection. There are 2 types of broadband- Static IP and dynamic IP. In this, the new facility is offered to the customers who have static IP.

If an application is submitted for getting this facility, the applicant will be given an initial number starting with 2999. This number must be linked to the landline number already available.

Further, the applicant needs to download Zoiper App from Google Store. Register the username and password and link. After this, one can use the phone for making/receiving calls and also for data services.

The special feature of this facility is the provision to operate without any SIM card using the relevant App.

Some customers may have the facility of voiceless broadband. They can use this LFMD facility to make/receive calls. There are no additional charges for this.

However, this facility can be used presently only in android phones. One can use this facility to make/receive calls even in locations where the signal strength is quite low. The communication will be clear.
