The state government of Tamil Nadu informed the Chennai High Court that it is setting up a new department in the cadre of Additional secretary for enquiring the cases of the builders who violated the construction rules and regulations stipulated by the government.
The Social Service Enthusiast, Traffic Ramaswamy, had submitted a petition to the Chennai High Court to take action on the violations of construction rules and regulations in a few buildings in Chennai George Town.
A panel of judges, including Huluwadi G, Ramesh, and Sundar, took up this enquiry.
The Additional Chief Advocate Mr. S. D. S. Murthy, acting on behalf of the state government, submitted the state government order released on 3rd March by the (CMDA) Chennai Metro Housing Development Board.
The order specifies that a new post and office of the cadre of Additional Secretary (under the CMDA) is being set up to conduct the enquiries on the builders who violated the State government construction rules and regulations.
A CMDA Planning Officer will soon be appointed to this office. He will be in charge to give recommendations on the technology issues offering explanation and execution of the construction rules and regulations.
After this presentation, the panel of judges adjourned the case to 19th June.
