Post demonetization, Post Office Savings accounts up by 15 Lakhs

With the increasing popularity and interest shown by the public to open Post Office Savings Account, it is an excellent development to record that the number of new Post Office Savings Accounts opened after the demonetization of the old currency notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 is 15 Lakhs that too, only in the state of Tamil Nadu.

While opening the Post Office Savings Account, an ATM card is given for Rs. 50 deposit and a chequebook for Rs. 500 deposit.

We can use this ATM in any ATM of any bank for taking cash.

As the Reserve Bank of India has approved the Post Office Savings Accounts, they can be used all over the country for different services.

In this regard, camps are being organised by the Postal Department in important places in Chennai Metro to open Post Office Savings Accounts.
