Survey: Chennai 6th cheapest city in the world to live in

In a recently released list of world cities with the lowest cost of living, Chennai Metro has secured the 6th place.

An economic research institute undertook the survey/research of the cities all over the world with the lowest cost of living.

Some of the findings reported in the survey:

Lowest cost of living
  • Among the world cities with the lowest cost of living, the city Almaty in Kazhaksthan gets the 1st place.
  • The city Lagos, in Nigeria, gets the 2nd place.
  • India’s Bengaluru gets the 3rd place.
  • India’s Chennai is in the 6th place.
  • Mumbai is in the 7th place.
  • Delhi is in the 10th place.
Highest cost of living
  • Among the world’s costliest cities for living, Singapore is in the 1st place for the 4th successive year.
  • Hongkong gets the 2nd place.
  • Zurich city in Switzerland gets the 3rd place.
The survey considered various costs of living factors such as food, clothing, household items, transportation, private school, and entertainment expenses.

It is notable that this economic research institute has been publishing this comparative list of the cost of living in cities every year.
