To all the smartphone users, BSNL will offer free 1GB data, according to the state owned telecom service provider’s announcement made on Friday.
This is a special free offer for all smartphone users intended to promote digital India drive. In a BSNL statement, it is mentioned that the free offer for smartphone users is for promoting digital India drive and increase internet users using prepaid mobile services.
To all the smartphone users, BSNL gives 1GB free data all of whom are not accessing the BSNL GSM data service. The offer intends promoting the total number of internet users in BSNL network. This offer will be made available based on pan India.
During the starting of this month, BSNL had announced new internet plans that offered double the data as compared to Reliance Jio. This also includes free calling within BSNL.
Without any special membership, a customer can activate the data pack for Rs 339 whereas in Jio connections, the charge is applicable to avail 2GB data along with unlimited BSNL calls.
BSNL customers also get free voice calling for 25 minutes to other networks. For calls made beyond the free limit, 25 paisa per minute of phone call will be applicable. Further, this offer is available only for 3G and not 4G.
