Aadhar card compulsory to get driving licence from October

The central government has released a new order that Aadhar card will be made compulsory to obtain driving licence from the month of October. This measure has been taken in order to fake registrations and malpractices.
Aadhar card role in the government-related procedures is increasingly being expanded. This is a recent step to include Aadhar card details in giving driver licence. A brief on the press release by the central ministry of transport regarding this.
The central ministry of road transport has decided to change the current procedure to issue a driving licence. As per this, Aadhar card will be compulsorily required to get driving licence. Similarly, Aadhar card details have to be given for renewing driving licences.
This action will not only help in preventing the issue of fake driving licences but also will help reduce transport-related crimes. It will be easier to take legal action on the drivers who violate the traffic rules and regulations.
Once Aadhar card particulars are linked with all the driving licences throughout the country, a vehicle which indulges in illegal transport activities can easily be identified whichever states it belongs.
Currently, different procedures are adopted in different states regarding driving licence. With the link of Aadhar cards, this would help reduce some of the shortfalls of these procedures. It would help a uniform procedure to get driving licences throughout the country.
This step will also prevent a single person having 2 different driving licences. This order will be effective from the month of October.
