Supreme Court’s orders have resulted in drastic slash down of bike rates and people are marching towards motorbike showrooms to buy brand new bikes.
Day before yesterday, the top court has banned sale of BS-3 vehicles starting from 1st April. Most of the motorbike manufacturers are at the verge of facing huge loss due to this unforeseen order. These vehicles should neither be sold nor registered.
Motorbike majors are left with no other choice than to sell bikes worth over 20,000 crore to be mandatorily sold within 2 days. Hero and Honda are the two major players that face humongous loss in this issue. This has resulted in drastic slash down of prices.
Hero MotoCorp has announced Rs 12,500 reduction in rate for BS-3 vehicles whereas for premium vehicles, the discount is Rs 7500. For mass market bikes, the discount is up to Rs 5000.
One day left:
Honda had announced discount of up to Rs 10,000 for all its scooter models. These companies are forced to sell all the BS-3 bikes within today, the 31st March 2017.
Owing to this unimaginable slash down of price, customers have started thronging into stores starting from yesterday evening. In spite of being harmful to the environment, due to lesser price, people show immense interest towards buying scooters.
At the same time, for registering a bike, it will take around about one or two days. However, as registration for these bikes should be done only today, people are panicked about the process.
