Central government order to RTOs: do not register vehicles with BS-3 technology

The supreme court had ordered that vehicles with BS-3 technology should not be manufactured or sold after 31st March.
Following this order of the supreme court, the central government ministry of transport has ordered that vehicles with BS-3 technology should not be manufactured or sold.
All RTOs (Regional Transport Offices) have been ordered not to register vehicles with BS-3 technology.
An office staff from the RTO, Madurai explained regarding this: Today (Friday, 31st March) is the last day for registering vehicles with BS-3 technology. The vehicles which could not be registered due to various important reasons will be registered the next day. Otherwise, BS-3 vehicles will not be registered from tomorrow (Saturday, 1st April).
