Severe summer expected till June - well above the average temperature

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that the summer in the next 2 months, May and June will be oppressively high this year.

The winter season was over and the summer season commenced on 1st March. Right from the start of the season, it has been severely hot in the delta districts and northern districts of Tamil Nadu.

A temperature of 40 Degrees Celsius was recorded in some sections of the southern districts. A temperature of 35 degrees Celsius was recorded in the Northeast district including Chennai.

At the same time, there has been a fair amount of rains in the delta districts and southern districts. The meteorological centre has indicated that the summer would be severe until June.

Indian weather bureau officials have released the forecast for the next 2 months.

There are no major changes in the temperature in the Pacific and Indian oceans. It can be expected that the temperature will be higher by 1 degree Celsius as compared to the average.

The North, central, and northeast states will be severely affected.

The temperature in southern states will be higher by 0.5 degrees Celsius.
