The Indian Weather Bureau has warned the public that the intensity of heat during this summer will be much more severe than the normal summer since the last 5 years.
It is observed that many cities in the state of Tamil Nadu have already experienced scorching summer with temperature crossing 100 Degrees Celsius.
The Indian Weather Bureau has been furnishing the expected climate conditions for the summer season from April to June every year. The weather forecast for this year has now been released.
It is warned that this summer will be far more severe than the normal average.
True to this forecast, the summer heat has been scorching as early as the 2nd half of the month of March. The maximum temperature of 100 Degrees Fahrenheit was crossed in 9 cities in Tamil Nadu on 2nd April.
A maximum temperature of 105.26 Degrees Fahrenheit was recorded in Salem.
The temperature has touched 100 Degrees Fahrenheit in several cities in the state at the start of April which is unprecedented over the last 5 years.
When comparing the maximum temperatures over the past 5 years, it is noted that the intensity of heat was more in the year 2016 in several cities. Vellore recorded a maximum temperature of 110 Degrees Fahrenheit.
The public has become quite anxious and concerned about this warning from the Indian Weather Bureau forecasting a severe summer ahead.
The director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre, Mr. S. Balachandran explained regarding this: The Chennai centre has received the weather forecast by the Indian Weather Bureau. It is noted that the average temperature will be higher by 1 Degree Celsius this year.
There are continuous changes in weather varying from day to day and the meteorological centre has been watching this closely.
A maximum temperature of 40 Degree Celsius (105 Degrees Fahrenheit) has been recorded in Salem and Dharmapuri. This is 2 Degrees higher than the average.
The intensity of summer will vary depending on the aspects like the direction of the wind, the humidity level in the air, and the earthen characteristics in the plain lands, hilly areas, and coastal areas.
