All government schools to close on 21st April for summer vacation

An official from the department of school education informed that all the government high schools and higher secondary schools will close for summer vacation from 21st April.
There are 3040 government high schools and 2839 government higher secondary schools in Tamil Nadu.
The SSLC examination for the students of these schools commenced on 8th March and got completed on 29th March.
+2 public examinations started on 2nd March and were completed on 31st March.
Annual examination for classes from 6th Standard to 9th Standard are in progress.
20th April will be the last working day for all the government high schools and higher secondary schools. Summer vacation will start from 21st April.
There are 33000 government primary and secondary government schools. The last working day for these schools will be 28th April with the annual examinations getting completed. Summer vacation will start from 29th April for these schools.
As a general routine, the schools reopen on 1st June. If 1st June falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the schools will open on the next Monday. So, it is expected all government schools will start the new academic year with reopening on 1st June.
The higher officials are considering the aspect of the prevailing severe summer whether the schools reopening dates will get postponed. The classes for +1 will start soon after the admission of new students gets completed after 15th June.
However, this year, the reopening dates for the schools and the start of +1 classes have not yet been announced.
