The Tamil Nadu Transporters’ Welfare Association is likely to announce the date of strike tomorrow. The association has a list of pleas including fund allotment for recovery of government transportation department.

There are over 1.5 lakh employees working with the Tamil Nadu government transportation association. They get indulged in a work contract for every once in 3 years. As per contracts signed earlier, PF, retirement fund, and other benefits are still pending clearance. Hence, the department should be allotted with separate funding and cater to the newly signed contracts. With all these pleas, the department is all set to indulge in strike. The strike date will be announced tomorrow, the 14th of April.

Speaking about this, Natarajan, the treasurer of the association says the association needs fund allotment done. A new, 13th contract needs to be signed.
