The last date to link Aadhar number with PF account number is extended, according to EPFO announcement. The last date is now 30th April 2017 for all the 4 crore members.
Earlier, the last date for Aadhar number linking was set as 31st March 2017. Now, EPFO has relaxed the deadline. Similarly, the deadline to submit digital life certificate for more than 50 lakh pensioners is also extended till 30th April under which pension accounts can be linked with Aadhar.
VP Joy, the Central Provident Fund Commissioner of EPFO said the deadline to submit Aadhar is extended to 30th April 2017. Apart from this, the pensioners are also free to submit their life certificates until 30th April.
To note, such extension of deadline by the EPFO is nothing new, as it has been done many times in the past. Further, the EPFO had done away with life certificate acceptance through banks. Pensioners ought to provide life certificate digitally through mobile devices or at common service centre or bank branches.
When a pensioner is unable to submit EPFO in its digital format, a physical form can be submitted along with valid reasons for not being able to submit the digital one. At the same time, starting from May 2017, the payments to pensioners will be ceased if life certificate is not submitted before 30th April 2017.
