Local elections before July

The Tamil Nadu State Election Commission has filed a petition to the Chennai High Court that it is ready to conduct local elections before July and hence asked for the extended time accordingly.
Earlier, the Chennai High Court had ordered the State Election Commission that the local elections must be conducted before 14th May. However, the Election Commission responded that there was absolutely no scope for that. Meanwhile, Malik Feroze Khan was appointed as the State Election Commissioner few days ago.
In this situation, in a recent petition, the State Election Commission has submitted to the Chennai High Court that it is ready to conduct the local elections before July and all related activities for this will be completed before 31st May.
