There were recent frequent incidents of road caving im at Anna Salai with craters forming and blocking traffic leading to congestion. Now, this has happened in another location Kilpuak. The road caved in suddenly.
The Chennai Kilpauk Taylors Road caved in suddenly creating a crater of 6 feet depth. This has created a lot of excitement in the locality. The officials explained that the road caving in was due to the Chennai Metro Rail project work. The officials expedited the repair work following the caving in and covered the crater with the cement mixture.
In a similar incident a few weeks ago in Anna Salai, a bus and a car got trapped in the crater. This was followed by another incident of road caving in again at Anna Salai.
All-in-all, it has now become a regular affair of disturbance to public life with roads caving in and cracks in the houses due to the Chennai Metro Rail project and effluents of cement mixture and chemicals suddenly oozing out into houses, sands oozing out from the roads, etc.
