Petrol pumps will remain open on Sundays

The petroleum dealers association has informed that the petrol sales will be available on Sundays.
Earlier the association had announced the plan to close the petrol pumps on all Sundays from 14th May insisting on its 11-point demands including a hike in the commission.
It had been announced this will be introduced in the first phase in 8 states. The Ministry of Petroleum issued a warning that in the case of a public complaint about the customers being acutely affected by this step on Sundays, stringent action will be taken as per Essential Commodities Act.
Subsequently, the petroleum dealers association has announced that the plan to close on Sundays is given up and the petrol pumps will function as usual on Sundays.
