Tata Consultancy Services will be generating new job offerings and devastate laying off employees, bucking the trend.
Its a definite no, says Rajesh Gopinathan, the CEO and MD of TCS when he was inquired whether the company is eying on laying off of employees just the way other IT players in India do.
TCS is functioning to produce new jobs and not cut down its size, he affirmed during a BPO centre launch event. We will be creating new job offers catering to the Digital India push.
While the other software majors such as Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, etc are downsizing, this affirmation by Gopinathan is definitely a welcome move.
The spokesperson of TCS, Pradipta Bagchi said there is a bright future for the Indian IT sector, as the Digital India initiative is migrating in the right track. We are on an expansion spree to widespread our presence and connect with many more people.
TCS is functional at 45 different countries with over 3,87,000 trained consultants. Over $17.6 billion revenue is absorbed by the company during the fiscal year between April 2016 to March 2017.
