The state Minister of School Education, Tamil Nadu, K. A. Sengottaiyan, informed that changes in syllabus for school classes is likely in order to keep the students abreast and ready to write all national level entrance examinations.

The prevailing procedure based on merit list is cancelled with a view that the students should not be subject to mental tension.

The High-level committee on this issue has suggested and recommended a few changes regarding the new syllabus. The government is in the process of studying these recommendations and taking a decision.

Thus, action has been initiated to revise the school syllabus for various classes. This would enable the students to be better prepared to participate in All India level entrance examinations like NEET.

The minister observed that it is still possible to seek an exemption for the Tamil Nadu state from NEET by appealing again through the Prime Minister’s office.

On another query regarding the errors in NEET test papers, the minister informed that it is for the central government to answer this.
