The state minister of school education, K. A. Sengottaiyan, informed that there would be some changes in the students’ uniform according to the class of study.
A special function was organised on the occasion of giving temporary approval for the functioning of 635 matriculation schools in 8 districts including Namakkal, Erode, and Tirupur in Thiruchengodu.
The minister for school education participated in the function. In his address, the minister informed that the system of 3 different uniforms will be introduced from the next academic year. There are 3 categories for 3 uniforms based on the classes of study - 1st to 5th Standard, 6th to 10th Standard, and +1 and +2 together.
With devoted hard work, it was possible to release the examination results on the dates announced, adopting the latest information technology, including sending the mark list as SMS.
The state has also been emphasising to the central government and the supreme court that the policy of NEET will not work out for the state of Tamil Nadu.
Nevertheless, there are plans to prepare the state students to encounter the national level challenges in the form of tests and competitions. As a step towards this plan, the system of introducing public examination for +1 classes.
The students who fail in +1 public examinations can still continue their studies in +2 classes, can write the +1 examination again on arrears basis, and pass the same.
The ministry of school education has a main objective: to create a competitive environment to seek admissions in government schools by improving their quality in every aspect. While allowing the private sector schools also to grow, the ministry will strive to prepare the students of the economically backward sections to match the standards of the private sector school students.
Special coaching classes will be conducted in all the 32 districts of the state at a cost of Rs. 2.13 Crores to prepare the students for the competitive examinations. There are plans to carry out changes in the syllabus in the coming academic years.
The ministry will strive to make every government school student be prepared to encounter the competitive examinations at the national level with success.
Computers will be given to the students in the beginning of +1 classes and internet and Wi-Fi facility will be provided.
There is another fictitious complaint about the shortage of teachers. Statistics are being gathered regarding this and action is being taken immediately transferring the excess teacher sin other areas to the needful schools so that there is no shortage of teachers.
