2 Multi-level car parking systems in Chennai airport soon

Soon, there is going to be 2 multi-level parking lots at the Chennai airport. These parking systems can accommodate 750 to 1000 cars on either sides at the airport metro rail station.
For the construction of this multi-level parking lot, internal discussions are being carried out by the Airports Authority of India. The traffic flow pattern at city side terminal is to be redesigned. There was a meeting with the officials here and the Delhi officials to form the project details so that it could be shared with the AAI headquarters and seek approval for the same.
A private company shall take up the design, construction and operation of the parking lots. Once the technical and commercial approval are got, a tender will be floated for the project. These parking lots will be of the height of the metro stations, said a senior AAI official. The available space for constructing the facility is surveyed already. The total number of floors, and slots shall be later decided.
