2536 postgraduate teachers given temporary appointment in Government High Schools

Till the period when permanent postgraduate teachers will be appointed by TRB (Teachers Recruitment Board), it has been decided to give temporary appointments to 2536 postgraduate teachers on contract.

A brief on the government order released by the secretary of the state government department of education, Mr. T. Udhayachandran:

The Teachers Recruitment Board is yet to give the appointment orders for the postgraduate teachers for the Government Higher Secondary Schools. But the schools have already reopened and classes have started. But, there is a shortage of teachers.

Keeping the requirement and welfare of the students in consideration, it has been decided to approve the appointment of postgraduate teachers on a temporary contract basis for a period of 4 months from June to September through the Parents-Teachers Associations in the respective schools by selecting the candidates who live in the nearby areas.

The temporary teachers will be terminated soon after the TRB appointment of postgraduate teachers is made and the selected teachers join duty.

The temporary postgraduate teachers will be selected by a committee comprising of the school Headmaster, Assistant Headmaster, and Senior postgraduate teachers.

A monthly contract payment of Rs. 7500 will be paid to the appointed temporary postgraduate teachers.
