UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has ordered that Aadhar service centres will have to function only in the government office complexes from September.
There were a large number of complaints received from the public regarding the difficulties in locating the Aadhar Service Centres to receive new Aadhar cards or correct old Aadhar card details and also that the private service centres charge excessively, Subsequently, the above order has been issued to address this problem.
UIDAI has requested the state government to ensure that these Aadhar service centres function under the monitoring of the government officials.
It has been ordered that the new places for the Aadhar service Centre, if required, will have to finalised before 31st July to facilitate the service centres function with government office enclosures – for example, Aadhar Service centres may be accommodated in the Office of the District Collector, Corporation Office, Banks, Regional Offices, and Taluk Offices.
